Simply Dental Chatswood

Chatswood is a suburb in the Lower North Shore of Sydney and considered as a major business and residential district. But before it became an administrative center, it started out with only a small community. The name Chatswood came from Charlotte Harnett, wife of the former mayor of Willoughby. She was fondly called as “Chattie” and the original wooded nature of the place were combined to create the name Chatswood. The land was mainly used for farming and timber but when the North Shore railway line was opened, it started the different industries. Chatswood was declared a town center only in 1983 and later on, in 1989, it became a city.

NSW Government confirms seven new Sydney train stations for Metro West project

The underground train will include stops at Westmead, Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock and the Bays Precinct. The State Government is also considering further stops at Rydalmere and Pyrmont. The government will acquire 93 business and 23 residential properties to build the project. Read more here.

Sydney’s new train station is a great news for the people. This will not only make commuting easier but it will also generate more jobs. While the government does not want to reveal the cost of the project, this is understandable so as to keep the competitive tension among the contractors. It takes political power and huge amount of money to create a new train line. But all the effort will pay off in the next years to come. We salute the people behind this brilliant idea. The authorities are even paying for those properties expected to be affected in the construction of Metro West.
